Sucker Punch: The Nerd Appropriate Review
I didn’t hate Zack Snyder’s Sucker Punch, but I didn’t love it either. Sucker Punch had a huge presence at last years Comic Con, and while I didn’t feel like sleeping outside to get into Hall H, there was a lot of “buzz” surrounding the film; after all it was Zack “300” Snyder, the same guy that gave us Dawn of the Dead, and Watchmen… That’s a pretty solid track record. What happens when you give a “visionary” director total creative freedom? You get Sucker Punched (see what I did there?).
Sadly underwhelmed by this one. Although I do love that Black Beard is in this installment. I hope they work the legend of his death into the film.
Agreed, and is it wrong that I’m viewing Orlando Bloom not being in it as a positive thing? I think this series might be getting ready to jump the shark if it hasn’t already.
Yeah, Hello, I’d agree. I am a fan of Ian McShane though. Loved him in Deadwood.
Deadwood blew my mind. I watched the entire first season in one go. McShane is a terrific actor.
I am completely into this movie. And Ian McShane as Blackbeard? Cmon! As a pirate lover and former pirate hunter, I have to say these are pretty much all I have to fuel my love of the high seas. Savvy?
