February is a big month for gaming and for Nerd Appropriate.com. We have a huge month ahead of us with a lot of fun content and some big surprises. February also marks our first month as an actual legitimate “business”. That’s right, we made it official and are now an LLC. A massive “thank you” to some of our readers for your loyalty, devotion and comments. If you’ve retweeted, commented, or told someone about the site, you are officially awesome. As a kid who used to write punk rock zines out of his garage with his best friends, I can honestly say this is something I’ve wanted to do for a good portion of my life. Do we ever expect to pay the bills with this site? No, not really. NerdAppropriate.com exists because it is our passion, so thank you for reading, watching, and listening.
What else is coming in February you ask?
The Site – Very special announcement live on Thursday night’s podcast. Tune in live to see what all the hub-bub is about. I can’t tell you more … yet
The Wedding-Writers needed– With Scott finally getting betrothed and going to San Diego for a few weeks we will be down a writer/ editor.. I’ll try and pick up the slack a bit, but we need a few more people with the burning desire to write. If any of you want to write an article about something “nerdy”, drop us an E-mail and let us know!
Interviews – We have some fun interviews coming up very very soon. All I can say is that one is a member mega-poplar series The Guild, and the other is a certain “master of unlocking”. I don’t want to give away anything more, but keep your eyes on the site!
What used to be a dead month for games has now become one incredibly hot launch window. There are some MAJOR titles coming out this month, some of which fans have been waiting over a DECADE for. I personally cannot wait for MVCIII and Bulletstorm and will probably pass on the others.
Describing what PAX(Penny Arcade Expo) is to someone who has never been to a PAX can be a bit of a challenge. It’s a convention, sure, but it’s also a whole lot more than that. PAX has become a bi tri-yearly pilgrimage for gamers and creatives, a utopia where they can go and be surrounded by other people similar to themselves… oh, and also play some video games.
Long ago we here at Nerd Appropriate set out to start a little web site about all the things we love… and somehow we’ve managed to survive. We’re as shocked as you are that after 49 podcasts, and hundreds of articles, Nerd Appropriate is still fighting the good fight! This weekend (2/26) we will record our very special 50th anniversary episode, and we need your help to make it extra awesome. Here’s how.
