Rated NA 75: Question of the Weekes
Ahhh 75 episodes of Rated NA! This week the gang welcomes Patrick Weekes, writer on the Mass Effect series, to talk about his craft and his new book, The Palace Job. We also briefly reflect on our wild work weeks and Hilary gushes about her love of Starbuck from Battlestar. Oh yeah, we also had Patrick answer a number of your listener questions as well.
Always hilarious, but Scott and Matt’s voice qualities were a little off
We recorded on a different setup, and the VoIP we use (which shall remain nameless) took a big dump on us during this one. I’m just happy to get it done by ME launch.
I also learned something today. The wishlist item about saving the Rachni queen in ME1, only to hope she pays you back in ME3, is my Chekhov’s Gun.

My galactic readiness level is flaccid and disappointed (what else is new lately with BioWare?):

Yikes, that’s kinda brutal if you don’t have access to 1.) your old console or 2.) your old ME2 save files.
That being said, if I did have to “go back in time” and replay ME2, I’d make sure to kill each and every single turret-spamming Cerberus combat engineer I came across as a favor to my future self. Now THAT’S brutal.
Yeah man, I gave my fiancé my old Xbox and picked up a gears box. So now, I can upload that saved game to the cloud and get it to my new Xbox… But because it’s not the same box I have to start a new game. So much for that perfect ending. At least I get to be femshep and lead a perimenopausal death squad against the reapers. But yes, very disappointed in bioware. All that engineering to make your previous choices affect the game and, for a lot of folks, it doesn’t matter.
You should move the files over to your new Xbox using the transfer cable if that’s possible. I’m sure we can get to the bottom of this
