Sadly I don’t feel as though I fit into the 1% who are good at parkour and acrobatics.  I do have to say that I was a whiz with Chinese throwing stars when I was a teen. Do throwing stars work at all on zombies? No? Shit…

Based on my interactions with friends, students, and fans, at conventions, meetups, and in general social situations, I’ve come up with the following list of Dos and Don’ts for networking within the industry. While a lot of this is common sense, I’ve found that our field seems to be a place where enthusiasm (or general awkwardness) often trumps formality. Actors in full Savini makeup showed up at my elementary school to pick up their kids and as soon as I saw their beautiful disfigured faces, I was hooked.
