Captain America:The Winter Soldier Trailer Released

Yay!

The trailer for Captain America: The Winter Soldier was just released by Marvel Studios!  Out in theaters on April 4, 2014. This story takes place aver the cataclysmic event at the end of The Avengers movie, which they make humorous nods to in Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. as the Battle of New York. When a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent is attacked, Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) and the Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) will save the day alongside new hero the Falcon (Anthony Mackie).  Samuel L. Jackson  returns as Nick Fury. Man, we love him- am I right? and New to the Marvel family is Robert Redford as Alexander Pierce. You’ll remember that Pierce was once a sleeper agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. and a decoding guru. He also looked like this :

Ahhh! I’m so excited about all the Marvel movies coming out! *squeal*

The Woman in Black: The Nerd Appropriate Review

A movie called “The Woman in Black” appeared in my Direct TV queue the other day and because of my unnatural obsession with all things paranormal, there was little I could do to combat its pull. Now, before you get all “OMG, I can’t believe you didn’t know about it” or “Ugh, isn’t that the one with Harry Potter not being Harry Potter” on me, hear me out. This film was quite good. Yes, it can be difficult to see Daniel Radcliffe as anything other than the brooding kid with glasses and an owl, but the way the movie progressed from first conflict to denouement was outstanding. I literally screamed at a couple key points in between, so the thrill factor was certainly present.

Review: Man of Steel – Superman Flies Again

Would Zack Snyder and crew be able to capture the “magic” of Superman or would the movie be another dud? I’m happy to say that while Man of Steel was not the movie I expected, it was certainly a bold take on the beloved hero worth seeing on the big screen.
