Over the years I’ve had my share of portable systems. When I was a wee lad, hand-held games were my absolute favorite. Maybe it was because I could play anywhere without my parents bugging me, I have no idea, I just loved the damn things. I remember spending an entire summer glued to my Atari LYNX playing amazing games like Todd’s Adventures in Slime World and Rampage.

In today’s modern age of gaming developers will often base their creations on real people. In the past it was jarring to see an “actor” pop up as a video game character, especially if they were were relatively well known. Can you imagine the nightmare of plopping in Super Mario 4 and seeing a CG version of Danny Devito hurling fireballs from his swollen quasi-dwarven finger tips?
Many of you know the name Parry Gripp, but for those that don’t I’m here to educate you. In the mid 1990s I remember wandering into an awful record store in the middle of ghetto in Tampa. After digging through the “Punk” section one band caught my eye, Nerf Herder. I must admit I bought the CD simply for the name. Nerf Herder is what one very famous Princess of Alderan calls one very suave Corellian smuggler in a moment of anger.
