The third season of Game of Thrones premieres on tonight, and the excitement is rising! There are no real heroes and even the villains can have a sympathetic presentation at times. I recently watched season two and I’m currently re-watching season one which raises the question: who am I looking forward, or not looking forward, to seeing again in the coming days? What day is it? I’m not even sure right now. My brain and body are officially fried in a wonderful way that only information overload could accomplish. I’ve seen a lot of talks, met a lot of people, and even gotten a look at a game or two. I’ll have to do a full write up later but for now I’m going to offer you, in no particular order, the talks I attended that I thoroughly enjoyed.
As I was wandering the show floor at this year’s PAX East (while trying desperately to avoid the dreaded PAX POX), I stumbled across Secret Ponchos, the latest title from Switchblade Monkeys. While there were hundreds of games at PAX to be played something about Secret Poncho’s raw style really drew me in. I guess I’m a sucker for a good poncho.

PAX has done a lot for our little outlet. Over two years ago Matt, Scott, and myself started NA as a means to highlight the crazy things we really care about (Hilary hopped on board later). Our podcast has become a beloved weekly ritual that all of us hate to miss. To be honest (speaking on their behalf), we never anticipated being able to talk to the folks that we have over the years, and so many incredible names have already been crossed off our our “bucket list.”
Yesterday I attended the second full day session of the Game Design Workshop. My brain is currently overfull in a wonderful way. While many of my fellow attendees are nursing their very real hangovers, I’m holding down an intellectual one.
