SSX demo impressions… it’s tricky
Defy reality. Own the planet. Download the demo. Hack the planet… ok, that last one was me, but you get the idea. Let’s return to the frosty slopes.

The voice of Admiral Ackbar speaks about voicing Admiral Ackbar, and how Yoda would have sounded had he done the voice.
Long ago we here at Nerd Appropriate set out to start a little web site about all the things we love… and somehow we’ve managed to survive. We’re as shocked as you are that after 49 podcasts, and hundreds of articles, Nerd Appropriate is still fighting the good fight! This weekend (2/26) we will record our very special 50th anniversary episode, and we need your help to make it extra awesome. Here’s how.
Hero Academy has become a bit of an obsession here at Nerd Appropriate HQ. Creators of Orcs Must Die, Robot Entertainment have managed to craft an incredibly fun and addicting asynchronous iOS strategy game. Like any great strategy game Hero Academy is simple to learn, but challenging to master. Game play is an epinephrine infused game of chess, mixed with the random nature of Magic the Gathering.
Even after watching Project S.E.R.A., I still have so many questions! The ten minute short film directed by Resident Evil editor Ben Howdeshell sprung to life this morning on YouTube, and damn is it good! Julia Voth (Lilith, Resident Evil, Bitch Slap) stars as Jill, in what could easily be described as a Reservoir Dogs-esque hostage drama with a zombie twist.
Over a year ago while recording one of our early podcasts we sat around daydreaming about what the perfect Mass Effect multiplayer experience would be like. We stated that if multiplayer were to work properly, it would have to be just as rich and in depth as the single player experience. We also agreed unanimously that Mass Effect multiplayer should never be competitive (team death match), but objective based action and survival. Now who knows if Bioware was actually listening, but it seems as though the message got through. Mass Effect 3 multiplayer is here… and I’m indoctrinated.
Double Fine proves the world still loves adventure games. We talk about Mass Effect 3 (naturally), and a Blizzard update. We give early KoA: Reckoning impressions, Matt brings his Oscar Deathmatch Challenge, and we review Hero Academy, Fear Agent TPB, a Conan comic, and look back at the SWTOR: The first 50 levels. Finally we talk about nerdy Valentine’s Day gifts. Special thanks to Magnus Palsson (aka SoulEye) for our featured track, “Pushing Onwards” from VVVVVV! veryone’s favorite gunslinger Julia Voth (Lilith, Resident Evil, Bitch Slap) will star in the 10 minue short film that is directed by Victor Webster
How Skyward Sword became one of the best Zelda games of all time, the Wii game you’ve always wanted, and why its the last Wii game I will ever play. From Hyrule, with love.
Abe Lincoln has been one of my favorite historical figures since I was a little kid. There is something mythical about that giant man and all that he accomplished. I would venture to say that Abraham Lincoln is quite possibly one of the most respected Americans of all time. After all “honest Abe” was the good natured emancipator who did his damnedest to keep America unified during an incredibly brutal and bloody Civil War.
We've written about our friends The Pauses before. They were the ones who made it into Rock Band 3 and then proceeded to dominate the world with their brand of 90s influenced indie rock. And while we don't necessarily pimp…
One of our favorite creators is Double Fine bar none. We played the crap out of Costume Quest, Stacking, and most of all Trenched. Not to mention cult classics like Psychonauts. Well just announced on the Double Fine blog, they…
